Beauty True Colors A person's haircolor says more about them than what's in their closet. It conveys one's inner spirit, and whether you're a romantic or a realist, your attraction to pink, purple or blue is based on instinct. It's no different than our preference for salty over sweet or sour over spice. Read on to take a look at the deeper meaning behind fashion haircolors, and which types of clients are ripe for one over the other. —ELIZABETH RUSIECKI SILVER: Illumination and Refl ection Silver symbolizes feminine energy guided by the lunar pull and the ebb and fl ow of the tides. Silver is fl uid, emotional, sensitive and mysterious. It's the mirror of haircolors, refl ecting energy that comes its way, both positive and negative. Who It's For: Silver is for stargazers, earth mamas, old souls and advice givers. If she cries during sad movies but can easily reset her internal hard drive, silver is her hue. MAGENTA: Universal Harmony and Emotional Balance When the passionate power of red mingles with the introspective, quiet energy of violet, magenta is born. Magenta is spiritual yet practical, encouraging common sense and balanced scales—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It's an intuitional powerhouse, boosting psychic ability to rise above everyday dramas. This is the color for those who always take the high road. Who It's For: Magenta is for passionate high-vibers, subdued sirens and quiet overachievers who know that being seen and not heard is sometimes the best way to go. If she's willing to let someone else have the last word, even when they're wrong, then magenta is her hue. PURPLE AND VIOLET: Imagination and Spirituality These shades inspire creativity and high ideals. Violet appears in the rainbow, but purple (a combination of red and blue) does not. So while violet has the highest vibration in the visible spectrum, purple gets all the credit. With the energy and strength of red and the spirituality and integrity of blue, purple and violet are the body and soul, leveling the seesaw of our physical and spiritual energies. Who They're For: Purple and violet are for seekers, sunset chasers and glass half-full types. If she has a Pinterest board of motivational quotes, purple and violet are her hues. PINK: Unconditional Love and Nurturing Pink is a loving combo of passionate red and the purity of white. Pink represents compassion, love without bounds and an eagerness to nurture. It's the color of promise and the "white picket fence" of the spectrum. Pink is also the hue with the potential to burst wide open; the deeper its hue, the more passion and energy it exhibits. Who It's For: Pink hues are for the hopeless romantics who prefer lace over leather and rom- coms over blockbusters; this is for the givers that sign their names with hearts and smiley faces. If she falls in love easily, pink is her hue. BLUE: Trust and Responsibility Blue is the most "loyal" hue, and is well suited for those who are sincere, reserved and quiet; think of blue as the peace sign of the color family. Who It's For: If she returns texts right away and is the designated driver of her group, then blue is her color soul mate. RED: Energy, Passion and Action Warm, positive ambers and corals are associated with our most physical needs and the will to survive. Red kicks butt and exudes a strong, willful, masculine energy. It incites action and is the color of leaders and ambition. Tantalizing and strong-willed, this fi ery hue can lend confi dence and awaken intimacy, passion and lust. Who It's For: Red is for the fi recrackers, vixens and feisty spirits who won't take no for an answer. If she believes red lipstick is the answer to everything and wears high heels like a weapon, then red is her hue.
