On The Cover
F
or Pamella Roland's fall/winter catwalk presentation,
modern artist Mark Rothko served as the inspo behind
the designer's wares—an amalgamation of sophisticated
and edgy—made all the more luxurious with a rich, luscious
color palette. Taking the idea of art-meets-fashion even further,
Roland lent a whimsical brushstroke motif that cascaded down
or across select gowns. All in all, the effect is soft, pretty and
dare we say, wearable?
The same goes for the hair. Loose waves—the beauty choice
du jour of many a mane maven—were created on the majority
of models, complementing the designs on display for a feminine
effect coveted by the crowd at large. Mass appeal on a runway?
A lovely concept, indeed.
