L ast month, I had the fortunate opportunity of attending Eufora's annual conference in Carlsbad, CA. There, salon owners, managers and stylists took part in myriad classes— from The Six Pillars of Beauty to The Secret of High Level Leaders—to learn all about the latest wellness methods along with top business tutelage. This year's session, dubbed VisionQuest, marked an anniversary for me—it was the tenth time I have been to the conference. One might presume that at this point, I would have felt like I had seen it all; however, this assumption couldn't be further from the truth. During the three-hour drive from my home in Los Angeles to the event destination, I was fi lled with a sense of excitement and earnest anticipation. Rather than feeling like I'd experienced all there was to learn from the brand, I knew that, based on years past, I was in for a thrilling and truly educational few days, as each year new curriculum is developed to make sure salon owners, stylists (and editors!) stay current with trends. Not only that, but after attending the conference for so many years, my acquaintances at the company have turned into friends, and it feels like the warmest of reunions in which ideas are welcomed and exchanged—not acquired in a sterile learning environment. As we approach 2018, I have made it my resolution to broaden my educational horizons even further, whether it be through taking part in a writer's workshop, sitting in on a look-and-learn cutting class, or attending more artistic presentations at hair shows. My wish for you, too, is to always push your artistic boundaries and strive to be better. Attending next month's International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach, CA, or Matrix Destination in Orlando, FL, are two good places to start. (To learn all about Destination, fl ip to page 36.) Cheers to a beautiful holiday! (And for some truly delectable seasonal-inspired spirits, turn to page 94.) Wishing my very best to you and yours. Editor's Notebook Now is as perfect a time as any to get inspired and enroll in continuing education classes.
