80 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | NOVEMBER 2017 News —EMILIE BRANCH Mary Wilson, director of education, ColorProof Evolved Color Care What are you most excited about in your new role? I am thrilled to lead a dynamic and dedicated team of educators who are passionate about ColorProof, and working on new social media and technology platforms to deliver our message. How has your experience up to this point helped prepare you for your new position? Having led many teams over the years, I understand that communication, enthusiasm and passion fuel all of the best education. If you could encourage stylists to take one class, which would it be? The ColorProof Envoy Certifi cation class, because this allows access to unique educational opportunities, new products and a community of fellow advocates from salons all over the country. How do you keep education fresh? I keep education fresh by working with the latest and greatest new product ingredient technologies with Jim Markham, and having an energetic and creative artistic director, Phillip Wilson. What do you do to unwind? I cycle, do yoga and meditate. What's your favorite comfort food? Macaroni and cheese, hands down! Lisa Hake, vice president of marketing and communications, Great Clips What are you most excited about in your new role? I love the brand's people and culture. In my short time at Great Clips thus far, I've met many astute leaders with great values. How has your experience up to this point helped prepare you for your new position? I've learned how to navigate large companies to drive change and improvements. On the other end of the spectrum, I've started my own business and built a franchise system and brand, from concept to a multi-location business. How do you keep marketing original? To engage with our audience, we need to continually ask ourselves what we can do that is fresh and maybe even a bit risky. What's your favorite way you relax? Working out makes me feel good about myself and the day ahead; it's rewarding and energizing. Tim Forbriger, director of business development, Keratin Complex What are you most excited about in your new role? I'm most excited to be working with great friends I have made over the years in the beauty industry, and the great potential I see in Keratin Complex for continued growth. What is the key to a strong business relationship? Listening. Favorite holiday? Christmas. What do you do when you're not working? When I'm not working, you can fi nd me spending time with my children, road biking and golfi ng. How do you unwind? I sit on the beach and watch the sun as it sets. Christian Wood, celebrity stylist ambassador, Wella Professionals What are you most excited about in your new role? I'm really happy to be part of the Wella Professionals family. Being able to collaborate and work as a team, alongside fellow ambassador Sophie Turner, couldn't be more ideal. We have such a great time working together and it's a thrilling career moment to become a global ambassador for such an established brand. How has your experience up to this point helped prepare you for your new position? I think working in the fashion industry and on many red carpet looks have given me a true understanding of how products work, how they last throughout the day, and how they make women feel. Working in industries like fashion and entertainment always keeps you on your toes and your eyes open, which is vital for being creative and thinking ahead. If you weren't a stylist, what would you do? I am passionate about interior design and baking. Describe your perfect night. It totally depends where I am in the world. When I'm home in Los Angeles, I like to keep it simple. I love being at a friend's house with my dogs Hunter and Winston, cooking food, drinking wine and catching up on the day's events. If I'm in New York, I love checking out the latest restaurants and walking home while soaking up the energy of the city. Each night ends with a candlelit bath, classical music and a cup of tea so I can decompress before the next day.
