The ultimate lash artist has been crowned by NovaLash CEO Sophy Merszei, and the lucky winner is Sarah-Anne Barham of Sarah-Anne's Beauty in Felixstowe, England. Barham won the 2017 LASH Artist of the Year title at the seventh annual LASHoff hosted at Hotel Derek in Houston. Kelley Delmonico of New Refl ections in Fridley, Minnesota, was also honored as the Fans' Choice winner. Barham was awarded with more than $25,000 in cash, prizes, advertising, marketing and travel with NovaLash. Delmonico was also treated to a generous prize valued at $10,000. Of course it's never easy to pick a winner, Merszei notes. "All of our NovaLash artists are phenomenally gifted, especially when you get down to the fi nalists," she remarks. Congratulations to all the 2017 top-placing artists! challenge accepted Are you up for the challenge? Aveda thinks its artists are, having launched the #AvedaArtist Instagram Challenge last fall. The brand has asked stylists to show off their best work using a monthly themed challenge hashtag. Previous challenges include creating a look around men's styles (#AvedaMen), no-wash day (#DryShampoo) as well as summer-inspired color (#EcliptingColor). This January, the brand held its fi rst challenge winner photo shoot so that all of its amazing artists and previous winners could come together and bring their visions to life. If you want to get involved, now is the perfect time to start. This July, the brand wants to see "frizz-free hair styling tips for hot summer months" with the tags #FrizzFree and #SmoothInfusion.
