JULY 2016 | beautylaunchpad.com | 37 VIRAL Your client spends beaucoup bucks getting her extreme haircolor just so—only to see it fade away within a couple of weeks. Viral Colorwash to the rescue! Featuring 10 extreme and pastel shades plus clear Moisturewash to use every other shampoo, the range offers delicate cleansing and crazy shine. "I like to say, 'Play, don't pray,' and this range allows you to have fun without the worry!" Leland explains. The Colorpositing cleansers include Extreme Silver, Extreme Yellow, Extreme Teal, Extreme Blue, Extreme Purple, Extreme Red and Extreme Hot Pink, plus three pastels: Baby Blue, Lavender and Light Pink. In fact, the Colorpositing ingredients are so strong, you can use the range in lieu of a demipermanent color. For bold or pastel hues, apply the Viral Colorwash of your choice to dry hair, then process for 20 minutes and rinse. For even bolder brights, apply Viral Colorwash to dry hair, cover and process under heat for 15 minutes, then let cool for fi ve before rinsing. Viral can also be used to create slices of creative color or jewel tones on virgin hair with repeated at-home use. Like Gem Lites, Viral also includes a conditioner, Extreme Blonditioner, that's perfectly suited for dry and damaged prelightened hair, and Celeb Secret Fix, a lightweight styler that detangles and enhances shine while providing humidity defense and frizz control. Leland believes that this new product category will invigorate the industry, increase creativity and offer clients real solutions for annoying color fade. After all, says Leland, "We're not a haircolor company, we're a hair colorist company." —AMY DODDS From Drab to Fab To revive faded midlengths and ends for more even and longer-lasting results, simply do the following: • Apply color retouch • Choose the Gem Lites Colorwash that best matches the desired shade • Lightly mist hair, then work Colorwash through the midlengths and ends • Apply the color formula over the Colorwash and process as usual • Rinse and shampoo with the matching Colorwash, then condition with Bonditioner
