90 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | APRIL 2016 News OUI, OUI! Wella Professionals speaks French! The internationally beloved brand has partnered with Jean-Claude Biguine, a hugely popular salon chain based in France. Wella will be the key external education provider for all of the chain's 280 salons. The new trends ultimately created by these talented powerhouses will be featured in "Collections Jean- Claude Biguine," a semiannual fashion release that will air on Biguine TV and in Biguine Magazine, a publication that reaches more than half a million clients. Perhaps most exciting, though, is the Biguine Worldwide Academy, which allows salons outside the franchise to benefi t from Biguine's name through selected branding and online technical training. Talk about a perfect partnership! Congrats Grads! The fi rst class has graduated from Dermalologica's FITE Future Entrepreneur program. More than 50 guests attended their graduation ceremony, which was held in the brand's fl agship SoHo location in New York City. Founder Jane Wurwand was in attendance to praise the group's accomplishments. "The FITE Future Entrepreneurs program is an opportunity to bring a new group of extraordinary young women into the Dermalogica Tribe and train them not just for a job, but for a career," enthused Wurwand at the ceremony. Expansion of this program has begun internationally, with like-minded women being supported in Cambodia, India, the United Kingdom and Australia. #ArtistsSupportingArtists Receiving a negative comment on work you post online can sting. As stylists, we should do what we can to turn this negativity into constructive criticism, or not criticize at all. Sam Villa, Redken Education Director and Founding Partner of Sam Villa, is on a crusade to make the online styling community a positive space. "Let's set aside ego, brand, company, team and tribe, and do something to better our industry and foster its future," encourages Villa. How to hop on this positivity bandwagon? Get involved by tagging #ArtistsSupportingArtists when you see helpful comments. And always remember: Consider your intentions when commenting on others' photos, communicate as though you are talking to someone you know and be constructive. Soma Colour Enhancement Procedures SOMA Hair Technology 1.866.843.2257 www.somaorganics.com Apply Soma's Complete Colour. Tis deposit-only color replaces any demi-color, while not fading like a demi-color (and does not fade brassy). It is great for sensitive scalps! Style the client's hair as desired using any of Soma's pH-balanced and SD 40 alcohol-free styling products. Low pH products keep the cuticle closed and prevent loss of color. Products with SD 40 alcohol cause immediate fading and dehydrate the hair. Spray the client's hair with Soma's pH-balanced Leave-In Conditioner to even out the hair's porosity for more even and beautiful color. Wash the client's hair with Soma's Clarifying Shampoo for a deep cleanse - removing styling and fnishing product build-up and allowing for better color penetration. Facebook.com/somahair
