86 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | APRIL 2016 News Maria Moga, Global Innovation Director, Macadamia Professional What are you most excited about in your new role? I am most excited about having a larger role in creating a full line of products. Instead of creating one product on the bench, I now have a say in what the full vision will look like. How do you predict haircare products will change in the future? I predict we will continue the trend of going natural and embracing the hair texture you have. As an example, approximately 70 percent of African Americans now go natural. I predict that number will continue to rise. The beauty industry has amazing products that allow you to embrace the hair you have, because that is beautiful. What do you do to unwind? I love sitting down for coffee, exploring new areas and working out. GETTING TO KNOW YOU Meet the industry's movers and shakers. Larsa Pippen, Celebrity Spokeswoman/Brand Ambassador, Agadir Argan Oil What is your hair and beauty routine? I wash, condition, dry and apply Agadir's signature oil. A fi fteen-minute blow-dry takes my hair from fl at to fabulous! I'm also a total lipstick and gloss gal. I'm down to perfecting the two-minute face: tinted moisturizer, lip gloss and mascara. What do you do when you're not working? When I'm not on the road working, I'm at home and on the couch spending time with Team Pippen (my four kids and husband). When I'm able to squeeze in some "me time," I like to hit the gym and lay out poolside. César Ramirez, Global Artistic Director, Mizani What are you most excited about in your new role? I'm excited to work with a leading brand in the textured hair world. It's wonderful to know that together we are shaping the modern-day trends in the hair industry. What would you tell stylists looking to transition into editorial styling? I would recommend that all stylists wishing to transition start taking classes for editorial styling, and also assist on editorial shoots to see what the editorial world is really like. Out of all the looks you've created, is there one that stands out as the most memorable? I have so many favorite looks. I'm a perfectionist, so I would never allow anything I don't absolutely love to leave my chair. But Ciara's ombré lob does stand out. What's your favorite comfort food? I love food soooo much! I'm not a bar or club person; I prefer restaurants. I eat mostly vegan or vegetarian. Mashed potatoes are my favorite…any type of fl avored mashed potatoes. Arrojo Exposé has gone on tour! Teaching inspirational education in seven cities, Nick Arrojo and his artistic team will share the cut, color and styling secrets inspired by the Cosmic-POP collection. "Stylistically," says Arrojo, "Cosmic-POP is a loud, colorful, punchy mash-up of pop art and glam rock; fashionably, it is the coolest thing coming out of New York street style; technically and creatively, the hairstyles incorporate Arrojo signature techniques in scissor, razor, color, texture and styling." The how-tos of the collection are addressed in the fast-paced two-hour shows lined up across the East Coast, which started in January and last through June. For more intel, visit arrojonyc.com.
