84 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | APRIL 2016 News —EMILIE BRANCH R+CO: HAIR: HOWARD MCLAREN, GARREN, THOM PRIANO; MAKEUP: DINA GREGG Gym, Glam, Go The latest trend in hairstyling is here! Intended for after the gym, but enjoyed anytime, Glam&Go; is a service where clients can book to-the-minute hairstyling appointments for braids, blowouts and updos. Clients can engage in a single service or pay a membership fee of $150 a month for unlimited use. Glam&Go; plus Redken, the service's product provider, are taking hair from sweaty to chic in 15 minutes. Glam&Go; is the brainchild of Erika Wasser, who was inspired by her time in entertainment industry green rooms. "I would show up to work with messy hair and in 15 minutes be camera-ready. When I wasn't working, blowouts became really inconvenient, hard to schedule and unaffordable in mass," Wasser explains. "Beauty has to fi t into a real everyday routine, so I thought, what if I could reimagine the experience of a blowout and make great hair days quick, accessible and easy?" Glam&Go; locations usually have 2-3 stations, a full sink and are in their own standalone salon space within gyms, hotels, residential towers and, as Wasser says, "where women need us most." All locations are open to the public—clients do not have to be gym members to enjoy the services. Wasser intends to open 10 new locations in 2016—it will "be a huge year for us," she notes. If you're looking to get involved, Glam&Go; is always hiring and looking for the best. Visit glamandgo.com/stylistcareers for details. Learn for Life We never want to stop learning, and luckily, Lydia Safarti never wants to stop teaching. The Lydia Sarfati Post-Graduate Skin Care Academy will include 1-, 2- or 3-day classes, which focus on technique, skincare science, business know-how, and Repêchage product knowledge. Classes will be off ered throughout the year, with Sarfati, company CEO and Founder, hosting her annual 3-day Master Class July 11-13, 2016. All estheticians, cosmetologists, spa and salon owners and personnel are invited to take part in the educational events, which will be hosted at the Repêchage headquarters in Secaucus, New Jersey. Rogue Polaroids, R+Co 2016 Campaign Inspiration: Andy Warhol's famously captivating Polaroids served as the inspiration behind R+Co's new campaign. The team kept wardrobe styling to a minimum and focused on the hairstyles to allow the models' personal taste to shine through. Howard McLaren, Cofounder of R+Co, describes the inspiration: "What really got us about Warhol's Polaroids were not how precious the pictures are, but the fl aws and imperfections they encompass. They are still so amazing and fresh even after 30 years because they rely on character to draw you in." Go-To Products: DALLAS Thickening Spray, TWISTER Curl Primer, PINSTRIPE Intense Detangling Spray Thickening spray helps Bob Dylan– inspired curls come to life. Go-To Products: LEFT: FOIL Frizz + Static Control Spray, DALLAS Thickening Spray (used at the roots), CHIFFON Styling Mousse (used from the mid-shaft to ends of hair); RIGHT: MANNEQUIN Styling Paste Added sheen and separation give this Debbie Harry look-a-like's punk style a modern update. A military man on leave inspired this well-coiffed look.
