12 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | JANUARY 2018 Editor's Notebook T he New Year is offi cially upon us, which means you're rested, refreshed and motivated to tackle what lies before you in the months to come. Right? Maybe. Having spent days merrily prepping, partying, then returning directly back to work, I admittedly am a bit tired. Of course, you too are facing fatig ue of another (more dizzying) kind, with the surplus of clients who fl ocked to your chair to make sure their hair looked absolutely fetching for holiday fetes, travels and the like. After standing on your feet for countless hours on end, I wouldn't blame you for wanting to do nothing more than kick up your heels on the couch with a remote control by your side. The last few months have been busy and downright exhausting. But as we know, there's no rest for the weary—or successful. No matter the time of year, we need to embrace the opportunities that lie before us and get motivated. That's why I am so enthused about this issue, which presents a variety of ways to energize yourself and your business. A large part of your vivacity, naturally, stems from good nutrition—fl ip to page 32 to check out healthy snacks and smoothies that'll help boost your energy throughout the day. Looking to rejigger your digital efforts? Our "Follow the Leaders" feature on page 66 showcases Insta-star stylists who share their best social media practices. We even have ways to ramp up team morale and in turn, your salon revenue, courtesy of UNITE's Andrew Dale on page 34. Do you have any strategies to reinvigorate staff? Let us know by tagging @BeautyLaunchpad. We'll share our favorite responses. Now, go forth and conquer the year that awaits! 2018 has arrived: Embrace what lies ahead.
