T here's just something about the spirit of the season that makes everyone, well, more merry. It's a time when people purposefully intend to give more of themselves and do good unto others. As beauty pros, you know how good it feels to help someone. All year round, you tirelessly devote yourself to helping clients look and feel their best. It is you who helped inspire all of us at Launchpad, as well as the entire Creative Age Communications (LP 's publishing house) staff, to start a brand-new initiative during this special time of year. In 2018, the National Professional Salon Industry Group will be honoring our founder and CEO Deborah Carver at the Spirit of Life Awards Gala held duri ng Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas. For years, Carver has donated her time and efforts to support City of Hope (COH), one of the world's leading cancer research organizations. But now, we want to do even more. That's why our whole staff is pledging, and we are asking you to pledge, $5 toward our efforts in eradicating cancer. Though it may seem like an insignifi cant amount of money, consider this: If each one of our readers were to donate $5, we would raise $1,075,000 toward COH for cancer treatment, research and support programs for cancer patients and their families. Incredible! Text BeautyGives $5 (or more, if you prefer) and your name to 41444 to support our cause. Salons can also get involved by organizing a fundraising event: For intel, visit ourhope.cityofhope.org/SalonIndustryGroup. This season, I will continue to give thanks for my health, family, friends, colleagues, and of course, each of you. Editor's Notebook A little goes a long way in helping to fi nd a cure for cancer.
