WHEN BUILDING A STRUCTURE, use a micro-crimp to add volume and texture. This will help create a foundation for sculpting your style. GET THE LOOK CRIMPED Coifs The rippled classic from the '80s and '90s experiences a mane revival. Crimped hair most likely conjures nostalgic memories of school dances from decades past, but guess what? e trend that everyone tried to forget is back—except this time it's more wearable. On the catwalk at Isa Arfen, random strips of hair were crimped throughout models' heads for a modern take on this old school trend. Tresses at Ports 1961 featured an allover crimp pattern paired with a bold red lip for ultimate drama. And at Alexander McQueen, models' faces were framed by crimped sections that were gathered into a low ponytail in the back. "When it comes to crimping nowadays, simplicity is a statement within itself," says Lucie Doughty, global editorial and digital director for John Paul Mitchell Systems. "It can be used as an accessory or statement piece, and is also great when incorporated into simple styles like a low ponytail or when worn down." Check out her tips below for creating the perfect crimped 'do.
