SEPTEMBER 2017 | beautylaunchpad.com | 85 The temperature may be cooling down, but the runways are heating up with the latest fall trends. Crimped hair and bowl cuts are making a comeback this season. Sexy, slicked-back styles are all the rage. Ponytails are back with a fresh twist. Loose, tousled waves refl ect a more laid-back style on the catwalk. Electric hues remain on trend while daring bobs bring just the right amount of edginess to the scene. And tribal tresses are challenging every woman's inner warrior to come out and play. With endless options, this season it's all about having fun while staying true to one's self. Help your clients celebrate their unique individuality with these stunning styles. From bold, chunky streaks to bright, allover color, there certainly wasn't a shortage of vivid hues on the runways for Saint Laurent, Versace and Jeremy Scott at New York and Paris Fashion Weeks. Models were rocking everything from electric blue and royal red to fl uorescent pink—proof that this season, anything goes. Dan Frye, Keracolor educator, shares how to get the black and blue color combo seen on the Versace runway. Then take the base color (probably a 2N or 3N in a demipermanent with a little blue kicker) and melt down the blue tips. APPLY THE BASE COLOR to the transition, then use a dry color brush to melt the base and blue together. FOR THE SECTIONS IN THE BANGS, color block the bottom layer and lighten to the scalp. Apply the blue, then place that section in a foil to protect it from the base color while washing. APPLY THE BASE COLOR TO THE ENTIRE FACE frame area to achieve a disconnected feel between the fringe and the rest of the hair. This creates extra drama around the face with bold peekaboo bangs, really drawing attention to the fringe.
