104 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | SEPTEMBER 2017 News The future is remote! Just because you can't physically make it somewhere, doesn't mean that you have to miss out. Dermalogica has launched d-streaming as part of its initiative to put education fi rst, and will stream classes from 16 of its training facilities, off ering more access to post-grad skin care education than ever before. Students who stream are able to interact with the educator and fellow classmates in real time via a live chat functionality for a truly interactive classroom experience. D-streaming has already launched in myriad Dermalogica hubs (Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and more), with additional cities launching the program soon. To register, visit education.dermalogica.com. From social media icon Larisa Love to the inspiring Winn Claybaugh, this year's Paul Mitchell Business rEvolution featured a talented panel of educators, stylists and experts who presented on an array of topics. Highlights from the conference, which was held at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, included a Q&A; session with John Paul Mitchell Systems cofounder John Paul DeJoria and entrepreneur Gary Spellman; a discussion of salon best practices with global artistic director Robert Cromeans; a talk on the state of the industry with VP of marketing Jason Yates; as well as a series of speakers that included author Tina Black and salon coaching duo Steve and Terri Cowan, to name a few. "When we launched the fi rst Business rEvolution in 2015, the feedback was out of this world," says Greg Bonhomme, director of shows and business. "Two years and three events later, Business rEvolution continues to be an essential game- changing program within the industry. Every year we challenge ourselves to connect our industry to the world's top talent. Our goal this year was to provide curated content that the attendees could craft themselves, and the response was incredible. We can't wait to evolve this event in the future and help businesses grow." Several exciting announcements were made, include Colin Caruso's appointment to new artistic director of color for JPMS. There were summer/fall new product presentations, such as the recently launched Neuro and Invisible Wear product lines, and Stephanie Kocielski presented the latest educational offerings for Neuro education. The afternoon portion of Business rEvolution consisted of six diverse breakout sessions that exposed attendees to a variety of topics, ranging from salon imaging and branding to sales benchmarks and take-home strategies. The evening ended with a screening of "Good Fortune," the new documentary that tells DeJoria's life story. "The JPMS Business rEvolution attendees have a lot in common with each other," enthuses Cromenas. "We are learning from like-minded business owners who have incredible success stories to share with others. JPMS is an inclusive company that celebrates everyone in the beauty industry. While we are in business for ourselves, we are not in business by ourselves." —KK DIGITAL EDUCATION Models present the Neuro line.
