E u f o r a 78 | BEAUTY LAUNCHPAD | MAY 2017 Will blorange work on various skin tones? The best thing about this trend is it works for pretty much every skin tone! For cooler tones I would recommend leaning more toward the blush/pink side of blorange, and for warmer tones the peach/orange side. How do I make sure my client's hair can withstand the new color? An important topic of discussion would be the integrity and health of the hair. If your client is currently a dark brunette, this may take a few phases of lightener to get to the perfect canvas for these sunset pink tones. If you think your client's hair can withstand the processes, then remember it may take more than one visit (or even two!), so be sure to discuss budget and a timeline. What if my client has really dark hair? A great option for someone with naturally dark hair would be to try a color melt or balayage of blorange just on the ends! How would you recommend avoiding color fade? Like most pastel tones, this peach shade will want to rinse easily out of the hair without the proper at-home maintenance. Be sure to discuss the correct home regimen of color preserving shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatments, like Eufora's Color Locking system, which will preserve color up to 30 percent longer. How should my client wash her hair post-blorange treatment? Other than using color-preserving shampoo and conditioner and asking about a leave-in treatment, it's important to stay away from really warm water. Using cooler water to wash hair will keep the color from rinsing out, as well as help to add shine. Of course, the most obvious solution would be to minimize the amount of times hair is shampooed. Suggest a dry shampoo, like Eufora Fresh Effect, to refresh any style! Celebrity stylist Logan Jackson from Salon Kazumi in Beverly Hills, California, showcases a blorange color he created for his client. CLOCKWISE FROM TOP, LEFT: COURTESY OF LOGAN JACKSON; COURTESY OF ALOXXI; COURTESY OF REDKEN SUNSET EDGE If your clients are looking to go even bolder with their color, this Sunset Edge trend by Redken (@redken5thave) combines cool pinks, fi ery oranges and vivid violets using Redken City Beats and Shades EQ Gloss. To get this look, use the following City Beats colors: West Village Sunset, Midtown Magenta, East Village Violet, Chelsea Coral and City Ballet Pink. PRETTY IN PINK For full head application, Aloxxi (@aloxxihair) artistic director Rocco decolorizes with Aloxxi white lightener + 20-volume developer, fi rst off the scalp and later on the scalp. "You need to reach pale yellow fi rst," he advises. "Once you are there, you can apply. If you would like to create a balayage, I recommend using Aloxxi Ultra lightener + 30 volume developer. Once you reach pale yellow, apply formula." His simple blorange formula: Aloxxi Ultra Hot Clear 20g, Ultra Hot Pink 20g and Ultra Hot Yellow 10g. Blorange 101 We tapped Dana Caschetta, stylist and educator for Eufora (@euforainternational), to answer some common questions about this soft yet bold color trend.
