California, where the summer mornings are sweltering and the winter
evenings are bone-chilling. Here, Wella Professionals global ambassador
Sonya Dove (@sonyadove, @wellahairusa) preens models for her latest
compilation, Undercover Lover, where she has teamed with photographer
Nicolas Troncin for a thrilling shoot. The concept stems from the 1965 Italian
fi lm La Decima Vittima [The 10th Victim], whose premise is set in a future where
people are allowed to unleash violence against one another in lieu of major wars.
In Dove's reinterpretation, strong women are pitted against each other in pursuit
of dominance. But she warns viewers not to get too bogged down with the details
she had in mind when conceiving the collection. "I want the audience to come up
with their own story," Dove says. After all: In the best of thrillers, the viewer may
never be sure exactly how it will end.
