W hile I am aware that New Year's resolutions are the norm, I have come to the conclusion that, for me at least, they're a fruitless endeavor. In the winter evenings—especially the uncharacteristically chilly ones we experienced in SoCal this year—I'd much rather snuggle with my 2-year-old son beneath the warm comfort of a blanket than head to the gym and trod on a treadmill for 60 minutes. That's why, for the past few years, I've held off on New Year's resolutions and made promises of a different nature, which I've dubbed "spring commitments." I know, it doesn't sound exciting, but bear with me. For instance, I'm much more inclined to work out with the pressure of an impending summer spent at the beach. The concept of cleaning house? That's gone hand in hand with spring for what feels like forever. In this forthcoming season, I am typically more inclined to shake off wintertime's sloth and push myself to further my boundaries in fashion, makeup and, of course, hair. In this issue, we encourage you to start this season off right by exploring the latest hair trends for your clients as seen on the runways (page 84). The subtle victory roll James Pecis created for the Brock Collection catwalk is a personal favorite of mine. And if your client is looking to change up her personal aesthetic in the form of a shade switch, we present the goods to keep her color vibrant long after she leaves your chair (page 66). How are you transitioning your clients for spring? Let us know! Just hashtag #BeautyLaunchpad—we'd love to feature your stunning creations on our social media sites and within our pages.
